Hey everyone and welcome back! I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday! Today I wanted to address something that I’m sure some readers have noticed. Those pesky Ads. Here’s the thing. As I know at least a few people are aware, if there are ads on a site, video etc. Someone is getting paid. So today I just wanted to clear up any misconceptions about this. Yes, I am a part of the Google Adsense program. Yes, I am allowing advertisers to display their content on my blog. However, I am not doing this purely for the reason of making money. I started this blog because I needed a new creative challenge in my life. I wanted something regular that allowed me to write, make videos etc. This has been that and, I hope, will continue to be that outlet for me. So, “why are there ads everywhere??”. Simply because I thought “why not try?”. Why not see if this could not only be an inspiring creative endeavor. But also profitable. I think it’s the dream of every creative soul to make a profit from their work and ideas. However, my true purpose for writing these posts still remains, I just like it. It’s fun! And yes, if I can build a solid reader base and make a profit from it as well, I will not turn that down. But the posts will always come first. As you might have noticed, there are only Ads displayed on the “Blog” section of my site, and inside the actual posts.
Would it be more profitable to show ads on the whole site? Of course. But that is not the goal. The main pages of this website have a very specific style and layout. It’s meant to be a hub for all of my creative endeavors, not disrupted by advertisers. I hope I have been able to shed some light on this! As I said before, the posts will always come first. It’s a tricky business trying to create and also receive feedback and see results. You really do just have to keep working at it! Which reminds me, I’ve got another video going up on Monday! Last week I published “5 Lighting Hacks in 90 Seconds”. It was a really fun little experiment and made me want to try more. On Monday I’ll be sharing “5 Mobile Photography Hacks in 90 Seconds”. In the same style as last week’s video, but in my opinion even better! Similar to last time there will also be a blog post describing the tips/tricks in more detail, with the video linked at the end. Thanks so much for reading! If you’d like to check out 5 Lighting Hacks there is a link here, and at the end of this post. I’ll be back on Monday with another post and the video. And this is the last Friday of 2017! Thank you so much for the support, stay safe, and be kind. See you in 2018!
