Ever been rejected? One way or another, most of us have. It's not a pleasant experience, but more often then not, you learn something along the way. Welcome back and happy Friday! I hope your week was a good one. Rejection can come in many different forms. For me, I am frequently sending my films out to festivals, and almost just as frequently, they are rejected. Now at first, this was an extremely discouraging experience, but as time has passed I've realized how beneficial it can actually be. At first, you try to think of all the things that you did wrong that could potentially have been the cause. It leads to going over and over in your head for quite some time, and generally is just not worth the struggle. This can span relationships, work life, personal endeavors etc.
But after years of rejections in all of those situations, does it ever become easier? Well, honestly no. But, that doesn't mean you won't learn something along the way. Being rejected makes you realize why it's important to keep working, keep creating, and never stop. If you always got into that contest, or always had a "yes!" as an answer. You'd never know just how important it is to keep on keeping on! In recent years I've begun to see rejections not as negative influences, but as inspiration to do even better next time. And yes, I understand this doesn't apply to all scenarios, but it can still translate to quite a few. Don't be afraid of rejection. Yes, for a time you might feel upset or discouraged. But it will pass, and I really believe that it can be a good thing! Not all situations that appear negative are truly bad moments. Many are, but certainly not all. Thank you for reading! At the end of the month (Monday, January 29th to be exact) I will be taking a quick two week break from the blog. Just to gather my thoughts and make sure I've got more quality content coming your way! But stay tuned, we've got four more regular posts left this month! And that's all I've got for you today, have a great weekend! Thank you for taking the time to read this blog every week. I'll be back Monday! Stay safe, be kind.
