5 Ways to be Happier

It's a Monday, yep, so around 50% of people are probably at least slightly unhappy today.

Let's fix that!


Happy Monday and welcome back! Hope you had a good weekend!

Here's the thing, so many people are unhappy. For some, they've got a pretty dang good excuse. Others, maybe not. But that doesn't matter! The point is, happiness is the most important thing for a positive life! Well maybe not the most important, but pretty close! It's something we all struggle with, but is there something we can do about it? You bet! Here are five of the best things you can do to improve your mood.



1: Exercise. One of the most classic ways to help with happiness. Wether it's taking a walk, going for a run, working out, anything! Exercise is extremely beneficial to your mood. And like I said, it doesn't even have to be something that crazy. A simple walk or five-minute jog can do the world of good. If you don't really know where to start, I'd highly recommend "The 7 Minute Workout". A very simple but effective routine comprised of 12 different exercises, each done for 30 seconds with a 10 second break between all of them. Find the app here on the App Store, or here on the Google Play Store. There are a lot of different versions of the app from different developers, but I've found this particular one to be pretty solid. And if you're interested in finding out more about the 7 Minute Workout, there are tons of resources online that explain in further detail!


2: Good Rest. I know it might sound trivial. But it can be a fairly large contributing factor to feeling unhappy. Making sure you get to bed and wake up at reasonable times is key! I'm someone who likes staying up late, so I know how tough it can be to force yourself into a new sleep schedule. Apart from simply making yourself get into bed earlier, I've found that setting an alarm for an hour or two earlier in the morning then you're used to, can work quite well. Because you're not used to getting up at that time, you naturally end up getting into bed earlier at night because you're more tired. Eventually you'll just transition into going to bed earlier.


3: Eating Well. Cut that sugar! The bread, the candy, the occasional soda or energy drink. It might not be super fun, but eating well absolutely improves your mood. You might not like it at first, but once you start feeling the effects of it, you could even want to keep it up! 


4: 2 Minutes. Try this, just stop. For 2 minutes. Do absolutely nothing. Sound strange? Probably! But while you're doing this, try to think of the many positive things in your life. Life itself! We're very lucky to have it. Just take a moment and ponder over your day, or not! Maybe just lie down and close your eyes and just Stop. Thinking. It really can be a help When you're feeling overwhelmed or unhappy, try this!


5: Do what makes you Happy. Don't listen to critical people. Don't let negativity get to you. Pursue that thing that makes you happy! Try new things! Who cares what people think of you! Some things will work, some won't. But don't ever let someone else tell you what you can or can't do. You're in charge. Not happy in a certain situation? Get the heck out. Accept constructive criticism. Reject the haters. It's not worth the time. It's not worth your time. You are the one in charge of your happiness. Once you realize that, nothing can bring you down for long.
